Before using, clean both sides of knife with warm water. Dry thoroughly.

1. Put knife surface on side of sharpener. 3 -4 times gently run across surface.
   
2. Repeat with the other side of the knife.
   
3. To check sharpness of knife, gently touch cutting edge. If dull, knife can be sharpened again repeating steps 1 and 2.

Cannot be used for scissors or iron knife.
